Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 July 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and UrCosmo (“UrCosmo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the UrCosmo website, applications, and services (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to Your Privacy Rights, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use. Where a higher minimum age of digital consent applies in your country, that age governs. The Service is intended for personal use by an individual. If you do not meet these requirements, you may not use the Service.
3. Description of the Service
UrCosmo is a personal life-management platform offering optional modules — including tasks, reminders, a schedule planner, journaling, reflections, memorable days, a bucket list, books, a job tracker, links, notes, documents, contacts, a movies & series library, collaborative projects, and a data-export endpoint — plus an always-on dashboard and calendar. Features may be added, changed, or removed over time. Some features are optional and off unless you enable them.
4. Your account
You sign in through Google or GitHub; UrCosmo does not store a password for you. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the third-party account you use to sign in and for all activity that occurs under your UrCosmo account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law or regulation;
- Store, upload, or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or that violates the intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
- Access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems and networks without authorization;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measures (except good-faith research reported under our responsible-disclosure policy);
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks, spamming, or the transmission of malware;
- Scrape, harvest, or use automated means to extract data from the Service in a manner that exceeds normal use, or use it to build a competing product;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
- Send unsolicited or unauthorized email or messages to anyone through the Service's sharing and reminder features.
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
6. Your content is yours
You retain all rights to and ownership of the content you create, upload, or store in UrCosmo (your “Content”). We claim no ownership over your Content. You grant us only the limited license technically necessary to host, store, back up, process, transmit, and display your Content back to you (and, where you choose to collaborate or share, to the people you share it with) so that we can operate and provide the Service. This license exists solely to run the Service and ends when your Content is deleted, except for residual copies in routine backups for a limited period.
You are solely responsible for your Content and for having the necessary rights to it. You can export your data at any time and delete your Content or your account whenever you wish.
7. Shared and collaborative content
Some features let you collaborate or share. In a Project workspace, content is visible to the members you invite, according to their role. Public share links (for a Note space or a movie collection) make the specific content you choose visible to anyone with the link until you revoke it. When you enter another person's information (for example, a contact's details) or send a reminder to someone, you confirm that you have a lawful basis to do so, and you are responsible for that use. Do not share content you do not have the right to share, and remember that people you invite or share with may retain their own copies.
8. Third-party services
UrCosmo relies on and integrates with third-party services (for example, Google and GitHub for sign-in, and providers for hosting, storage, email, analytics, and optional AI and metadata lookups). Your use of those services through UrCosmo may also be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services. A current list of our sub-processors is published in Your Privacy Rights.
9. Plans, billing, and payments
UrCosmo currently offers its features free of charge while paid plans are being finalized. The pricing page describes the Free, Pro, and Max tiers and the storage and feature limits associated with each. When paid plans launch, additional billing terms — covering fees, billing cycles, renewals, taxes, cancellations, and refunds — will be presented to you before you subscribe and will form part of these Terms. We will not charge you for a paid plan without your clear, prior consent.
10. AI features
UrCosmo includes optional, user-triggered AI features (for example, the Cosmo assistant, the daily-digest intro, and the notes “Enhance” action). These may send the relevant content you submit to third-party AI providers to generate a response. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it, and it does not constitute professional advice. You must not use the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, or infringing content. How data flows to AI providers is described in Your Privacy Rights.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service itself — including its software, design, user interface, branding, logos, and the “UrCosmo” name — is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. No rights are granted except as expressly stated here.
12. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it to improve the Service, without obligation or compensation to you.
13. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in Your Privacy Rights, which forms part of these Terms. Please review it to understand our practices.
14. Availability, changes, and beta features
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as available” basis and may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, temporarily or permanently, with reasonable notice where practicable. Some features may be offered as beta or experimental and may change or be removed. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, provided that you may always export your data.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; deleting your account deletes your Content, subject to the retention described in Your Privacy Rights. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users, with notice where reasonably possible. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
16. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data will never be lost. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UrCosmo and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold UrCosmo and its operators harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or the rights of a third party.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have under the consumer-protection or data-protection laws of your country of residence, you agree that the courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. We encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to resolve any concern informally.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
21. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they reference are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in full effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
